W.C. Burgess Insurance Services Ltd. was founded by Bill Burgess in 1988, operating under the name of Brayton Insurance Services Ltd. Bill had a vision of providing a friendly welcoming atmosphere for clients, employees and business suppliers alike. He has trained a professional staff to see themselves as skilled problem solvers, not just order takers and to welcome all clients, with courtesy and respect.
In 1990 the company purchased the business of Owen R. Davis Insurance, a successful well established brokerage in Brockville and in 1991, the company name was changed to W.C. Burgess Insurance Services Ltd. and moved to its present location.
In 2002, W.C. Burgess purchased the business of Heritage Insurance Brokers Ltd., which was a perfect match as Heritage Insurance had the same philosophy and values regarding customer care and professionalism that W.C. Burgess valued. In May 2014, Greg Foan and Max Patterson purchased Burgess Insurance from Bill Burgess.
Max Patterson retired in 2021, and with Greg Foan leading the W.C Burgess team, a new relationship began with our partner, Collectivfide. Through our partnership with Collectivfide, our team has access to more available markets, services, and a strengthened network of broker partners and insurance expertise which allows our team to provide enhanced insurance solutions and top-of-the-line client experience.
The firm is registered as a licensed insurance broker with the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO). They are members of both the local and provincial associations of Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario ( IBAO). Specializing in personal property, farm, auto and commercial insurance, we expanded to include life insurance in 2002.
The office feels the strength of our customer relationships has been built on a foundation of strong ethical practices, excellent staff, unfailing courtesy and a sincere attitude of helpfulness.
Give us a call to experience the Burgess way of doing business, even if it is just for advice or information . You will enjoy the call.
